Ivy Marlin – Mitzvah Project
Ivy Marlin’s Mitzvah Project – Giving back to support pet therapy.
Ivy believes that everyone should have a chance to experience the wonderful companionship a pet can provide. As an avid animal lover herself, she knows how important pet companionship is and she has selflessly chosen to support OC Animal Allies for her Mitzvah service project. Specifically, Ivy wishes to help support the PAWS Therapy Dog Program. These trained dogs and volunteer handlers visit senior living homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, children’s foster care
homes and more. The Therapy Dog teams also visit Libraries and Elementary Schools where they help inspire and educate the next generation of animal lovers, just like her. These dogs provide support for children who are have reading difficulties and by helping to coach them, improve their literacy skills and give them the confidence to read aloud. With her program support, literacy materials and necessary program support will help to provide for even more children and adults here in Orange County.
Donations given for Ivy’s Mitzvah project will go toward supporting the OC Animal Allies PAWS Therapy Dog programs. These programs provide monthly visits to more than 30 facilities throughout Orange County, California. Averaging more than 600 visits annually, our
PAWS Therapy Dog program helps strengthen the human-animal bond by sharing the love of a pet with those in need, often times those who cannot have their own. These visits provide a unique and wholesome social opportunity for seniors, children, and the community at large.
