Whether looking to adopt an animal, searching for a lost pet or in need of other Animal Control Services such as reporting animal cruelty or reporting a stray/loose animal, it is important to carefully read which shelter you will need to visit or call.
The shelter system in Orange County can be confusing. Surprisingly, the shelter closest to you may not service your area. Please read carefully before determining which shelter to contact.
Whether looking to adopt an animal, searching for a lost pet, surrendering a pet, or in need of other Animal Control Services (such as reporting animal cruelty or reporting stray/loose animals) it is important to identify your city’s contracted shelter. For instance, there is a shelter in Huntington Beach on Newland Ave. However, if a lost animal is picked up in Huntington Beach then the lost animal is housed at the shelter in the City of Tustin on the Victory Rd. and not the shelter in Huntington Beach.

See the list of shelters below and pay close attention to the services each shelter provides. Please note the OC Animal Allies are not animal control and we cannot write, interpret, or enforce the law. We always default to the legal governing agency of each city.
