Volunteer

OC Animal Allies’ work is made possible through the commitment and dedication of its volunteers.

We are always looking for likeminded animal allies to help in various areas including fundraising and event planning and execution, helping with our food distribution program, social media influencing and contributing, donor and grant research and community and education outreach programs like or PAWS Therapy Dog program. If you are looking for ways to serve the community and have a passion for animals, OC Animal Allies invites you to join our team of volunteers.

Please note, as we are not a shelter nor operate a rescue we do not have kennel or dog walking opportunities.

PAWS therapy dog volunteer

PAWS Therapy Dog Volunteer Ambassadors

Our largest and most popular volunteer program, is our PAWS Pet Therapy Teams! Volunteers and their carefully screened and approved personal family pet dogs represent the organization at dozens of locations in Orange County, ranging from assisted living, skilled nursing, mental health centers and hospitals, to schools, libraries and businesses. Event Ambassadors

Event Ambassadors

For those who believe in the mission of the OC Animal Allies and would like to spread our organization’s message this position would include attending local events promoting and fundraising for the OC Animal Allies. You would table at  our own fundraising events or other community and animal related events not hosted by us (such as Corporate Visits, Health Fairs and Resource Fairs) to answer questions and educate the public on the important work we do.

Event Committee

This team of volunteers are essential in raising funds for the OC Animal Allies to support our programs. The event committee would be in charge of planning and executing events, both large and small. Duties may include locating vendors, solicitation of corporate and private hosts, locating sponsors, and creating marketing materials. In addition, they may also assist in planning non-fundraising events such as our Volunteer Appreciation Picnic or Annual Holiday Party.

Fundraising & Grant Writing Committee

 This group is the heart of raising much needed funds for the OC Animal Allies programs that provide for veterinary care and spay & neuter programs. This group works in conjunction with the Events Committee for events, both large and small.  Experienced individuals may also identify and apply for various Grants to fund larger projects as well as approaching corporations and donors for capital fundraising. Additional duties may include the planning and execution of smaller fundraising events and campaigns involving the public and our audience of supporters.

Social Media Guru

Social Media & Marketing Gurus

Being a small non-profit means we have a small team constantly working on our programs serving the community. We are always looking for experienced and passionate individuals to help spread the word and share what are programs provide via our social platforms, and to educate the community  on how they can become involved to support us. We also have occasional need for graphic designers looking to expand their portfolio, and college interns pursuing marketing or and  social media copywriters.

At this time, we do consider applications for those interested in becoming a volunteer for the OC Animal Allies. Once we have received your application, we may contact you for immediate interview, or place you on an interest list for our next general volunteer orientation where we will discuss the organization and next steps.

All volunteers must complete an interview and screening process, as well as submit to a background investigation.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer.
